Rebrand: ROOM Magazine
Room is Canada’s oldest feminist literary journal, and has published fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, art, interviews, and book reviews for forty years. With the rebrand, it was important that all elements worked together to enhance the experience of reading the publication. The usage of the typeface, Tofino, by local type designer, Alana Munro, brought the project to a new level. With women being largely outnumbered in type design across the world, Alana’s work resonated with the vision and mission set forth by the Room team.

Brand Design: I AM ALICIA MARIE
Alicia Marie is many awesome things, and a texture and curl specialist is just one of them. I designed her brand to capture her essence; she’s playful, creative, strong, cheeky, open, and bright. She believes in the power of affirmations. Alicia Marie’s I AM statement was an important element to incorporate into the design, and of course, the curl had to be front and centre ;-)

Multiple Asset Creation: Quality Forum
The Quality Forum is an annual conference that brings together British Columbia’s health care community to share and discuss how to improve quality across the continuum of care. For several years I was the design lead for the conference and designed all assets, which were disseminated to thousands of attendees, speakers and health care professionals. These assets included: program guides, large-scale signage, presentations, brochures, ads, exhibition displays, webpages, email newsletters, animations, online conference landing pages, and branded assets for social media campaigns
Data Visualization: Patient Voices Network
I have worked as a contract designer for the Patient Voices Network for several years, depicting large pieces of information for many stakeholders, from governmental funding bodies, to health care professionals, and to patients themselves. My work with PVN includes annual reports, web graphics, collateral, signage, and infographics.
Annual Report: Reach Community Health
REACH Community Health Centre has been providing community-based health care in Vancouver for fifty years to an underserved population. I was excited to prepare their 2021/21 Annual Report and AGM material because I enjoy visually conveying large pieces of subject matter to diverse audiences, especially when there is a social cause involved. REACH is doing amazing work, and my goal was to elevate their current aesthetic as the report will be shared to obtain future funding initiatives.
Communication Management: The Happening Dance Studio
The Happening Dance is a dance studio located in East Vancouver that welcomes children and adults from the age of 3 onwards into classes 7-days a week. As the communications manager, I was in charge of articulating the brand’s voice across all mediums (written, print, digital, social).
